This marks Cooper's third milestone in the past week and a half. Last week he got control enough of his hands to grasp things and pull them to his mouth. He's very interested when you put things in front of him. He tries very hard to get everything in front of him to his mouth. It is quite entertaining. Also, he discovered his toes this week. He likes to lay on his back and roll from side to side holding onto those big tingers as I call them! LOL His legs are getting stronger, so he enjoys bouncing up and down on your legs. He's also very talkative. He coos all the time, with a finger or two and sometimes even a fist in his mouth. Cooper is still very much a happy baby. You smile and he smiles. He's started to laugh when you make funny noises and has a few tickle spots.
Marlee is still trucking along. We're still potty training. She runs around bare bottom during the day and goes to the bathroom on her potty all by herself. She's wearing training pants when we are out. She lets you know that she's gone to the bathroom. She has a new favorite book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear. We read it at least a dozen times a day. She really enjoys the colorful pictures and already predicts what animal comes next. In the front cover it has stripes for each animal. I'll call out an animal and she'll point to the correct color stripe. She really is so smart and observant. She loves to play patty cake and peak-a-boo, which we call pea-pie. I'll catch her in Coop's face trying to do them with him. She's got an unbelievable memory. She remembers things that I don't think are important, but I guess they are to her.
Last weekend Nana and Papa came to visit. We took the kids to the park. Marlee really enjoyed herself. She calls the lake and all bodies of water for that matter, POOLS! The park we went to was beside a pool. She saw geese, which she called ducks. Mimi is coming this weekend, so I'm sure we will have stories to tell. Still no news on the house in GA. We're still holding onto hope that it will sell and we don't have to move back! LOL
As for the job hunt for me... Chad has a cousin who worked in Knox Co for 32 years, that we finally broke down and called. We're not ones to ask for help, but I guess you can say we are starting to feel desperate with the school year quickly approaching and no phone calls of interest. So, she called in a few favors to several principals she knows, and I have an interview with Farragut Primary on Tuesday! We are very excited but don't want to get our hopes up. Knox Co is still under a freeze for new hires, but the principal wants to go ahead and interview in hopes that it lets up before school starts. It will be for a Kindergarten position. It isn't the most desirable grade level, but as a girlfriend and I use to say, "We can do anything for a year, right?" So that's the philosophy I am adopting. Enjoy a few pictures of the kids. I will update everyone about the interview next week!
