Welcome July!

Well July is off to a great start! We had a wonderful 4th with friends here in TN. We went to our friends' home and had a Mexican themed 4th celebration. Their next door neighbors actually held the get together. There were as many kids as adults. It was wonderful to have a feeling of home. Here are a few pictures of the weekend and some extras.

This was Marlee's first experience with fireworks. They were going off all over the neighborhood. She was really scared at first, so we stayed inside and watched from the window. Then she eased outside and sat in my lap. She learned to hold her ears so it wouldn't sound so loud. She needed Chad to hold them for her too because she had to hold onto her baby as a security. Cooper just hung out. I don't think that boy is phased by anything. Patty, Chad's mom, says Chad was the same way as a baby.He just enjoyed people watching.

Chad's dad was up in the mountains earlier this week, so we went to visit and have dinner. After dinner, we went across the street to a children's amusement park of sorts. Marlee loves trains, so we thought she would enjoy riding the kid's train. Not so much! She and I rode together and she would do fine until she saw Chad. She and Chad rode the carousel because she also loves horses. That didn't go over to well either. I think she's just a little young, but the mountains give us plenty of options for entertainment in the years to come. We forgot our camera, but Jackie had his, so I will try and get some pictures from him to upload.

Well, there's still no news in regards to the house. We are very frustrated with the lack of effort on behalf of our Realtors, but we're stuck with them until September. So just keep it in your thoughts and help us wish it to sell.

Chad's job is going well. He's gaining more responsibility so he stays pretty busy. Me on the other hand, I am still trying to get my foot in the door with Knox Co schools. Their website is not very user friendly, so there were a few things the county office were lacking to make my application complete. Hopefully a contact at our 4th get together will pan out. A woman there lives across the street from the head of HR for Knox Co. She is going to give my resume directly to her. So, I'm holding my breathe in hopes that it will help me. So what are my alternatives you say? Well, I am applying to Blount Co and Maryville City schools too. If you are familiar with the TN hiring process, they are ALL notorious for hiring late. It all has to do with the budget that comes out in July. I know of several people that I went to college with that didn't get a phone call until the week before school, and some even got calls the day before! So, I am justing waiting for a call.

If a teaching job doesn't work out, then I will find something to keep me busy in the meantime. I would love for the house to sell, so I could just stay home with the kids. As long as it is on the market and we are paying double bills, etc. then its inevitable that I will have to work. Which is fine. I really enjoy teaching.

Well, I guess since I have written a book, I should stop here. I hope everyone is well. Keep praying for our house to sell and for me to find a job. We can use all the luck and prayers you can send us!
