When I interviewed at GW late last Spring, Ms. G had two positions she was looking to fill: first grade and third grade. When I interviewed, I would have been happy with either grade. Now that I am back in third grade, I am so happy. I am at my best when teaching 3rd grade. In my opinion, 3rd grade is the hardest year for students. There's such a shift in independence for the students. I think I work better under pressure, and there's a lot of pressure in 3rd grade.
As for the school itself, GW is like a little hidden jewel in East TN. I absolutely love everyone there. I felt at home the very first day. The school is well kept thanks to Mr. Bell and his staff. The teachers' experiences range from a few years to over 35! I've developed a few solid friendships that will reach beyond the classroom walls. We all understand our job, but we can cut up and laugh at the same time.
When I interviewed, I told Ms. G that I was looking for a forever home. I think I found it. .
